Zorya-Mashproekt is designing new UGT 45 000 and UGT 60 000 engines
The company is developing GTE-45 and GTE-60 gas turbine powerplants based on UGT 45 000 and UGT 60 000 engines...

The development is based on the proven engineering solutions applied in the previously constructed UGT 110 000 engine.
The nominal power rating of the UGT 45 000 engine is 47.7 MW and the UGT 60000 engine is rated at 63.5 MW. Their designed efficiency is 36.1% and 38.8% correspondingly. The rotor speeds are 3900 and 4320 rpm. The reduction gear reduces speed down to 3000 rpm. Their compressors have 15 stages. The straightener blades of the first four stages are adjustable. The bypass valves are installed after the 5-th, 10-th and 15-th stages ensuring perfect surge protection. The pressure ratios are 14.1 and 18.
The single-shaft design reduces the engine’s production cost (compared to the multishaft engines) and simplifies its maintenance. Both kinds of production (pilot and serial) are involved into the working process. The testing stand was constructed for friction bearings. The combustion chamber is in the developmental testing stage. The engines are planned to be constructed in 2008. Then they will be installed on the stand for complex testing.
