Ural Turbine Works upgrades compressor units at Gazly booster compressor station in Uzbekistan
The GT-6-750 and GTN-6 gas compressor units installed at the booster compressor station of GazlyTransGazDobycha have been operated since 1975 and now their total accumulated operating experience is over 100,000 hours...
It exceeds the assigned service life.
The compressor units will be upgraded during the next 3 years. The superchargers’ upgrade includes replacement of high-pressure compressor aerodynamic assemblies and their basic components. This will result in the reduction of compression stages and improvement of volumetric capacity. All these measures will prolong the service life of gas compressor units and make them operate at nominal ratings.
The first stage of upgrading is to provide the present volumetric capacity of Gazly compressor station with less number of retrofitted units. The cost-effectiveness of gas transmission will also be improved and later on its volume, if necessary, may be provided on the level of about 30 mcm a day.
Upgrading is carried out during operation of booster compressor station, in the working conditions of compressor halls and without interruption of gas transmission. The specialists of Ural Turbine Works are going to participate in upgrading of several other Uzbekistan gas compressor stations as more than 50 Ural were units installed there after 1960. Totally, Uztransgaz has to improve the throughput capacity of the Middle Asia-Centre gas pipeline thrice, i. e. from 40 up to 120 bcm a year. |
