FT8 MOBILEPAC mobile power plants were commissioned in Daryino (Moscow)

Two Pratt & Whitney FT8 MOBILEPAC peak-load power plants with mobile substations are located 20 km west of Moscow. Their primary task is to provide reliable standby electrical power supply at Daryino 110 kW substation (MOESK) supplying electricity to the western part of Moscow and its region.

This equipment is to be used in case of emergency, for peaking operation and during the peak demand which is essential nowadays due to the power shortage. The mobile power plants are to be operated not more than 4 hours a day during the morning and evening peak electricity demand. Their total annual operating time should not exceed 150 hours. The mobile power plants were synchronized with Moscow’s Power Grid.

The power plants were accepted by the Central Acceptance Board consisting of representatives from the Federal Service for Supervision of Environment, Technology and Nuclear Management (Rostehnadzor), All-Russian Thermal Engineering Institute, RAO UES of Russia, Technopromexport, etc. According to the inspection results, Rostehnadzor confirmed that the mobile power packages fit all Russian environmental standards.

The equipment supplier is Pratt & Whitney (USA). The customer is Mobile GTES.
