UGK TGK-8 territorial generating company realises investment projects in Astrakhan region

The construction of new 410 MW combined cycle plant began in November at Astrakhan TETs-2 heat and power plant (South generation company – TGK-8).

With its commissioning in December 2010 the plant’s total capacity will increase up to 785 MW, the annual electricity generation will be 4.7 milliard kW/h. UGK TGK-8 is investing over 12 milliard roubles in the project.
The following preparations took place at Astrakhan TETs-2 heat and power plant: design estimates were developed, survey and site cleanup were carried out.
At the same time UGK TGK-8 is reconstructing Astrakhan state district powerplant building 110 MW combined cycle plant. The project includes the replacement of four overage steam turbines by combined cycle plant and upgrading of existing steam boilers to cover peak heat loads. The heat output will increase from 244 to 326 Gcal/h. The annual electricity generation will be 715 million kW/h, the heat production will be 270 thousand Gcal.
Over 4 million roubles will be invested into the project. The new combined cycle plant will satisfy the existing heat and electricity requirements. The commissioning is scheduled for June 2010. EnergoKaskad is the prime contractor of PGU-110 combined-cycle plant 110 at Astrakhan powerplant.
The overall volume of the investment programme for 2007-2016 will be 75.8 milliard roubles. One of the most important factors of its successful implementation is the agreement with LUKOIL on providing all constructed power facilities with gas.
