Three Taurus 70 gas turbines will drive Dresser-Rand compressors. The equipment will be installed on the new Caspian shelf drilling platform at the Korchagin field.
The nominal power rating of each generation package is 5.2 MW, and the electrical efficiency is 30.4%. They will be operated in cogeneration cycle with a thermal capacity of 9.6 MW. The power generation units will supply electricity to the low pressure compressor station, platform drilling equipment, and the entire station infrastructure.
The nominal power rating of the Taurus 70 is 7.69 MW, and the efficiency 34.8%. The compressor units will be used for gas transmission to the Makhachkala-Astrakhan gas pipeline and for the platform process needs.
The primary fuel will be associated gas, and changeover to diesel oil will also be possible. |
