The first stage construction of Severnaya GTU-TETs gas turbine heat and power plant (Moscow) is underway
The first stage of the plant is based on a Pratt & Whitney Power Systems SWIFTPAC FT8 gas turbine power unit with total electrical output of 60 MW...
The SWIFTPAC FT8 is a twin-engine unit. Two FT8 gas turbines, with nominal power rating of 27.4 MW each, drive a single turbine generator from opposite ends, and the turbine generator can be operated either with two engines or with one in half load mode.
The plant’s first stage is equipped with two heat recovery steam generators, each with a thermal capacity of 30 Gcal/hour and two PTVM peak heating boilers each rated at 60 Gcal/hour). Dorogobuzhkotlomash will manufacture the heat recovery steam generators and the water heating boilers. Sventa will supply the required fuel gas booster compressors, which are manufactured by Enerproject (Switzerland).
After the first stage commissioning, further expansion of the GTU-TETs plant is planned. Another SWIFTPAC FT8 gas turbine with heat recovery steam generators will be installed, which will raise the total electrical output up to 120 MW and the thermal capacity to 240 Gcal/hour.
The GTU-TETs turnkey construction is being undertaken by DKM-Engineering. The plant will supply the capital’s new northern district with energy and heat.
