The first reconstructed compressor unit is commissioned at Moskovo KS-18A compressor station
The ceremonial commissioning was carried out on October 28, 2006 and was attended by Murtaza Rachimov, the President of Bashkortostan, Alexander Ananenkov ,Vice-chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors, and Bogdan Budzulyak, Head of Gazprom’s Gas Transmission and Utilization Department...
Before reconstruction of this Urengoy-Novopskov gas pipeline compressor hall, the existing GTK-10-4 units were completely worn out, failing to meet noise and temperature regulations , unable to deliver the designed output of 10 MW, and of very low efficieny (not more than 22%) with correspondingly increased fuel consumption.
When the GTK-10-4 unit was operated for gas transmission, its gas consumption was 130 million m3 a year. After the commissioning of five GPA-16R gas compressor units designed around AL-31ST engines, the fuel gas consumption almost halved with the same pipeline throughput. And that in its turn had a beneficial effect on the environment.
The replacement of eight GTK-10-4 units by five GPA-16R gas compressor units, each rated at 16 MW, emptied whole working areas of the compressor halls which previously had to be heated, lighted and maintained. The emptied areas of the buildings will be closed.
The compressor station reconstruction is continuing this year, and the first gas compressor unit installation has started in the second compressor hall. |
