Taking into account the present-day power industry condition, it can be said the small-scale power generation customers don’t have sufficient information about gas turbine technologies and GT powerplants. A great number of potential customers are unaware of them. Unlike many international countries where gas turbines are widely used, they are still rare in Russia.
To define the power project cost-effectiveness, a feasibility study must be carried out based on the particular project data, provided by the customer. First of all, the customer is interested in the amount of capital investments, pay-back period, discounted revenue, and power production cost.
The decision on GT powerplant construction and funding requires design estimates (feasibility study and engineering documentation). It’s a long-term and costly work. For example, a 12 MW powerplant project costs approximately 30 million roubles (about 900.000 Euros), including the cost assessment (25% or 7.5 million roubles / 220.000 Euros). The cost assessment lead time can be 4-6 months.
The preliminary cost estimation, determination of a payback period and energy net cost can be done in the expert “mini feasibility study”. The customer will have a comprehensive idea about the powerplant’s arrangement as well as its specifications, performance and economics at a relatively low price.

- Assignment 3: power project investment substantiation (“mini feasibility study”) starting with 150.000 roubles / 4.500 Euro (+18% Russian VAT) + business trip expenses. The performance period is 45 days from the moment of advance payment, business trip not included.
