The engine rated at 8 MW has been manufactured since 1996. The compression ratio is 17.5 and the efficiency is 31.8%. The gas inlet temperature is 1365 K and the gas flow is 35.6 kg/sec. The power shaft rotation speed is 8200 rpm.
The AI-336-2-8 engine will be operated within a Sumy Frunze NPO GPA-Ts-8A gas compressor. Two similar units have been operated at the station since 2004. The purpose of the contract is to improve the reliability and stability of the internal and export supply of natural gas.
