The prime contractor is chosen for Shaturskaya Powerplant
The consortium consisting of General Electric International Inc. (USA) and Gama Guk Sistmleri Muhendislik ve Taahhut A.S. (Turkey) became the prime contractor for construction of the PGU-400 combined cycle unit to replace outdated equipment at Shaturskaya state district power plant (OGK-4 Wholesale Generating Company)...

The scope of general contract will include design and delivery of equipment and materials, turnkey construction and commissioning of a single-shaft combined cycle power unit with the electric output of 400 MW.
The investment project for construction of the power unit at Shaturskaya powerplant was approved by the Investment Committee of RAO UES. The power project was included into the List of high-priority power sites of the Russian Unified Energy System. The commissioning of the PGU-400 power unit is scheduled for 2009. The power project is worth over 375 million US dollars.
OGK-4 includes five heat and power plants: Surgutskaya GRES-2 state district power plant (the Khanty-Mansijsk Autonomous District, Surgut, Russia), Berezovskaya powerplant (Krasnoyarsk Territory, Sharypovo), Shaturskaya powerplant (Moscow region, Shatura), Smolenskaya powerplant (Smolensk region, Ozernyi) and Yaivinskaya power plant (Perm region, Yaiva). The total installed capacity of OGK-4 is 8.63 GW.
