Microturbines for pharmaceutical industry
BPC Power Systems successfully completed the power project designed for the new administration building of Apteka 36.6 pharmaceutical company (Moscow)...
The primary component of power system is the cluster consisting of 12 Capstone microturbines, each rated at 65 kW, which are located in a specially equipped facility.
The choice of Capstone microturbines as an equipment for the power center was determined by their relatively low operational costs, high ecological properties and ability to operate in trigeneration cycle which significantly improves the total efficiency and completely resolves the issues of heating and refrigeration supply. The exhaust heat recovery system, rated at 1.13 MW, peak-load hot water boilers, each rated at 1.02 MW and six booster compressors are used as auxiliary equipment.
Trigeneration provides reliable power supply to Apteka 36.6 administration building as well as heat, hot water and air conditioning during summertime.
The design, installation and commissioning works were completed in the end of December, 2006. The power center was put into commercial operation in January, 2007. The new generation Capstone C65 microturbines were used for the power project in Russia for the first time. |
