Mosenergo carries out turbine expander tests

The 72-hour tests of two DGA-5000 turbine expander gensets were completed at TETs-23 heat and power plant (Mosenergo). The 6 MW gensets are manufactured by Krivorozhsky plant Energiya.

Both units are equipped with the Ò-6-2ZU3.1 turbogenerators produced by Privod. The com-missioning of two power units planned before winter will increase the installed capacity of TETs-23 heat and powerplant by 12 MW.
The turbine expander genset generates electricity through the energy transformation of the excess gas pressure.
The application of turbine expanders reduces production cost of manufacture and increases power generation efficiency at TETs-23 heat and powerplant.
The first turbine expanders in Russia with the total electric capacity of 10 MW were installed at TETs-21 heat and power plant (Mosenergo) in 1994.
